Huawei is one of the few manufacturers that has decided to update its terminals to Android 10, the new version of Google's operating system, and to EMUI 10, the company's renewed customization layer. Many of the Android terminals that the company has for sale will be updated soon, starting with the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, which will receive the final version in the coming months. Some models, such as the Mate 20 series, the Huawei Nova 5T, P Smart and the Huawei P30 Lite, are already receiving the beta version of EMUI 10. Do you want to install it on your mobile? In this tutorial I show you step by step how to download and install EMUI 10 on a Huawei mobile.
Before starting the process and updating your mobile, it is important to mention some points. In my first place, and if you are concerned about the issue of Google services, Play Store and Google apps, you should know that nothing will happen. Huawei has already confirmed that all the terminals that are for sale in the market have and will continue to receive Google services, even if they update to new versions. Of course, being a beta you may experience some other compatibility problem, which brings me to the second point. If you use your mobile as personal or for work, it is advisable that you do not install the EMUI 10 beta until its final version is released. Although it is quite stable, it has some other flaws and may be incompatible for some applications. In addition to affecting performance with battery life etc.
To begin with the download and installation of EMUI 10, we must check if our terminal is compatible. I have compiled all the models that can be updated to beta and you can see if yours is compatible in the list below. First, find the model number of your Huawei mobile. To do this, go to Settings> System> About this phone> Model and Build number. Check that your model is on the list.

Download the beta app
Once we have verified that your terminal is compatible, we will proceed to download the beta application to register in the system. This app can be downloaded in different ways. the simplest is through the official Huawei page. Click here and click on the button that says 'Download'. It will ask for confirmation and a message will appear at the bottom. When the download is finished, click on the 'Open' button and install the app. If this is the first time you download an application from the browser, it will ask you to enable unknown sources in the settings. When you have activated them, go back and return to the installation window. Click on 'Install' and then open the app.
Join the EMUI 10 beta program
Notice: for this step it is necessary to have a SIM card inserted in your mobile. Once the beta installation is finished you can remove it and continue with the new version.
Sign in with your Huawei ID. Within the app, we will go to the option that says 'Personal' and click on 'Join the project'. Then, we go to the tab that says 'Available projects'. There the beta of EMUI 10 will appear under Android 10. We will have to click on the red button to join.
Depending on the beta time, Huawei may register your request and take a few days to accept it. It is also likely to apply immediately, or even not be tested for access for different reasons.
If Huawei has accepted the request, the beta version will appear in the 'System update' option, in the device settings. You just have to click on download and wait for the update to download. It is heavy, so it is advisable to have enough internal storage and a stable Wi-Fi network, as well as a battery of at least 50 percent. Of course, it is advisable to make a backup copy before installing the new version, since in the case of having any problem you can restore to EMUI 9.
How to unsubscribe from the program
Don't you want to be in the beta program and want to unsubscribe ? Go back into the Huawei test app, and in the 'Personal' section, click on the option that says 'Unsubscribe from the program'. You will receive a new update that resets your device settings, removes all data and installs a previous version. Later, you will receive the final version like any other user, but without the data you had, since the terminal is completely reset.
