WhatsApp on the iPhone offers very similar functions to the Android messaging app, although as they are different operating systems, some functions are somewhat more complicated on apple devices. A very interesting trick, and that not all users know, is the possibility of downloading WhatsApp audios, converting them into MP3 files and saving them on the iPhone to listen to them later or send them through any other platform. Not sure how to download them? I teach you below.
The option to download WhatsApp audios serves both for those that we have received and those that we have sent. We can download as many as we want, even several at the same time, since they will be saved in different files. First, select the audio you want to save and hold until the options appear. Click on 'Resend'. You will see that two icons appear below. On the left, the one that allows us to forward the audio to another contact. On the right is the share button, we will have to click on it. Then select the option that says 'Save to files '. If the option does not appear, click on the button that says 'Edit actions' and under 'Other actions' activate the 'Save to Files' button.
Now, place the audio in a folder in files. It is best to create one in the local memory of your iPhone. To do this, click on the folder icon that appears in the upper area and create it. You can put 'Audios' as a name and thus save all those you download in the same folder. Click on 'Save', they will automatically be saved in that folder and you can access it from the Files application on your iPhone. These are saved in 'Apple MPEG-4 Audio' (.M4a) format, which can make it incompatible when forwarding. Now it's time to convert it to.MP3.
How to Convert Audio to MP3 from iPhone
Audio Converter interface, which allows us to convert into MP3 with high quality from the iPhone.
To convert an audio to MP3 it will be necessary to use this portal called 'Online Audio Converter'. You can access from your iPhone. We click on the blue button that says 'open files'. Next, we access the explorer through the option that says 'Explore' and select the audio. On the web select 'mp3' and choose the audio quality. Then click on convert. If the audio is not very long, it will take a few seconds to convert it to MP3. Finally, click on the 'Download' option and confirm the download. If you have iOS 13 or higher you can open the file directly from the downloads.
The last step is to rename this audio and save it in its corresponding folder. We return to the 'Files' application and select the downloaded audio. You can look for it in the most recent ones. To change the name, hold down and click on the option that says 'Rename'. Don't worry, changing the name will not change the file format. Once you have modified the file title, select 'Move' from the drop-down menu by holding down and select the 'Audios' folder. Finally, delete the previous one.
The audio saved in files can be shared through Gmail, WhatsApp (yes, again) or even sent to the computer through iCloud if it is a Mac or by connecting the device through iTunes. If you have an iPad you can also access the MP3 from the Apple Files application.
