The vast majority of Android keyboards have the same problem. We are talking about the vibration of the keys, an option that is active by default in a large number of phone brands, among which are Huawei and Honor. Swiftkey is the keyboard that comes installed by default in EMUI, the signature customization layer. Fortunately, Swiftkey allows you to deactivate and remove the keyboard vibration on Huawei, Honor and all phones that have this keyboard as the main interaction method, and this time we will show you how to proceed.
Because we will use the Swiftkey options in EMUI 8, 9 and 10, the steps that we will see below are compatible with all Huawei and Honor phones. Huawei Huawei P8, P 8 Lite 2017, P8 Lite 2018, P9, P9 Lite, P10, P20, P20 Lite, P20 Pro, P30 Lite, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20 Lite, Mate 20 Pro, Y3, Y5, Y6, Y7, Y9, P Smart 2018, P Smart 2019, P Smart Plus, P Smart Plus 2019 and Honor phones such as Honor 8, 9, 9 Lite, 10, 10 Lite, 20, 20 Lite, 7X, 8X, 9X and 7S.
So you can disable keyboard vibration on Huawei and Honor
Removing the keyboard vibration on a Huawei mobile is really simple. To do this, we will have to go to the Swiftkey Keyboard application, which we can find among the list of installed applications.
Remove key shake in Swiftkey, EMUI's default keyboard.
Within this we will go to the Writing section, and later to Sound and vibration. In this section we will see three options: Sound volume when pressing the keys, Vibration when pressing the keys and Use the default vibration of Android. To remove the vibration from the keyboard completely we will have to disable the last two.
We can also reduce the intensity of the vibration by sliding between the application bar. If what we want is to deactivate the sound of the keys, we will have to activate the first option along with the other two.
Remove the vibration of the keys on the Google keyboard (Gboard).
It is important to emphasize that this setting does not apply to all keyboard applications that are installed on our device. To remove the vibration of the keys on other keyboards, such as Google's Gboard, we will have to resort to the respective application settings and follow a process similar to the one we have just detailed.
