Mobile phones belonging to the iPhone range of the US manufacturer Apple incorporate -in the vast majority of cases- a default location option that is activated when we take a picture with the mobile camera. At the moment of taking a snapshot, our iPhone automatically attaches the data related to the location in which we were at the time of taking that image to the photograph. That is to say, the photograph reveals our exact location without our being aware of it.
If we are sharing a photograph of a landscape, this option does not pose any major problems. On the other hand, if we are sharing a photograph taken -for example- at home on social networks, it is essential that we proceed to deactivate the location of the photographs taken with the iPhone before proceeding to take the snapshot. And that is precisely what we are going to explain in the tutorial that follows.
How to disable location in photos taken with an iPhone
- First of all, we must go to the Mobile Settings application. This application is represented by a gear icon, so it should not be difficult for us to find it.
- Once inside, we must click on the " Privacy " option that appears below the " General ", " Wallpapers and brightness ", " Sounds " and " Touch ID and code " options.
- Now a new screen will open in which the first option that will appear will be " Location ". In principle, as long as we have the factory configuration of our iPhone, this option will appear activated with a " Yes " next to it.
- Click on this " Location " option. In this way we are accessing the list of applications that have permissions to use our location.
- Next, we must look for the camera application, which is represented by the icon of a photographic camera and the title of " Camera ". On one side of this option a sliding button will appear. In the event that said button is illuminated in green, we must press on it so that it becomes deactivated (turning into a white button). If when entering this section we find that the button that appears next to this option is already marked in white, it means that we can be calm since the location is completely disabled within the camera application.
- We can also be more radical by clicking directly on the " Location " option that appears at the top of this configuration menu. In this way, we will be able to completely disable the location in all the applications installed on our iPhone (thus gaining an extra security but, at the same time, losing many useful options of the applications).
