The dark mode extends its tentacles to all Google applications, third parties, Android launchers and even layers of customization such as MIUI, which we find in Xiaomi terminals such as the Redmi Note 7. With the MIUI 10 update came the promise from the dark mode, but it has been kept only in the Beta versions of the Rom, without yet being available to everyone. But do not worry, if you are very interested in having the dark mode in MIUI 10 we have the solution. Go through installing the Beta version of a custom Rom, based on the Chinese Rom but adjusted to Global. Every week a new update will appear with improvements, so this Rom is only recommended for those who like to tinker with their phone.
The first thing we must take into account is that:
- Our phone must have the bootloader unlocked.
- Download XiaoMiTool V2 tool.
- Enable developer options (by pressing seven times on the MIUI version section of the 'Settings' section of the phone
- Enable USB debugging within these options
Once everything is done, we connect our mobile to the computer through a USB cable, better if it is the one that came in the box, from the factory. As soon as the XiaoMiTool application detects our mobile, a first screen will appear in which we will click on 'Agree'. Later we will have to choose the left screen, ' My device works normally '.
Next, the tool will detect if our mobile phone has the bootloader unlocked and USB debugging activated. If everything goes well, the tool will have detected your terminal and the following screen will appear.
We will click on 'Select' and then a new screen will appear. In it we choose the second option, ' Custom Rom, not official '. And we continue.
We are already heading the final stretch of our tutorial. Now we are going to choose the right Rom to finally have the dark mode on our Xiaomi mobile. We have to click where it reads ' Xiaomi.eu rom - Developer '.
Now, be careful not to remove the cable during the whole process. Just let the Rom install and don't do anything else. When done, set up your mobile. We show you below how to choose the dark mode, in addition to showing you some screenshots to show you what the final result is like.
We are going to enter the settings of our phone. Then, we locate the 'Screen' section and enter it. In English we find the ' Dark Mode ' section that refers to the dark mode. We have three different configuration options, permanently activated, permanently deactivated and automatic.
In this last section we will be able to have the dark mode at the same time as it gets dark in our city. A very practical way to have the dark mode without having to worry about activating it, so that at night it does not bother us and during the day it does not make an appearance.
As you have seen, the process to get the dark mode is very simple. Thanks to the XiaoMiTool V2 tool you will be able to install the ROM you want without rooting your phone. Of course, make sure you have the bootloader unlocked. This is essential!
