iOS 11 introduced quite an important feature, which all iPhone users can turn to whenever they need. It is the possibility of making emergency calls directly by pressing a few keys. All this without having to unlock the mobile. In this way, it is possible to notify emergency services or important contacts in case of accident, harassment, theft or any other problem that prevents you from dialing the number calmly or searching the phonebook.
How to set up Emergency SOS
The first thing you have to do is enter the settings of your iPhone and locate the "SOS Emergency" section. You will find it just below Face ID and code. Next, you will access a new window with different functions and information. Here, you can learn how to activate emergency calls if you need it. You simply have to press and hold the side button and any of the volume buttons to activate the service.
Another function that you can activate is to call with the side button. What does this mean? Basically, if you activate this section, you will be able to make an SOS Emergency call by quickly pressing the side button five times in a row. Don't worry, because the method of holding down the side button along with one of the volume buttons will still work. That is, they will both be activated.
On the other hand, you can activate the Automatic Call function. In this way, the moment you press the side button together with one of the volume buttons, you will not have to use your finger to display the service, the emergency call will be made automatically. We recommend that you have this activated only if you are going to be careful not to accidentally press the necessary commands to access.
Finally, it is possible to add emergency contacts, although for this you will have to previously configure the iHealth app and enter Medical data. When defining contacts, SOS Emergency will send messages to those people you have established as priority so that they can be notified in case of need. The messages will also include your current location.
