There is a very, very interesting feature on Huawei and Honor phones. No, we are not talking about its camera, or its customization layer, but about the possibility of performing different actions using knuckle gestures. That's right, a few years ago the firm implemented a new technology on its mobiles that allowed us to take screenshots or gestures using the knuckles of our hands. Sometimes this feature can be very useful. We teach you how to configure and use it on your Huawei or Honor mobile.
How are these gestures achieved?
Huawei has collaborated for a long time with a company specialized in this technology. Fingersense is a division of a firm that specializes in this technology. What makes us able to perform these gestures with the knuckles is a Software solution that detects and notices the difference between the pulsation with the finger, the knuckle or even with another object such as a pen. The most interesting thing about this technology is that it can be used in practically any device. As well as in any operating system.
To activate the gestures through the knuckles, we will have to go to 'Settings', 'Smart assistance' and 'Control movement'. Inside, we will have different actions in the 'Knuckle gestures' section. From there we can activate and deactivate the three options.
Smart capture
The first option is Smart Capture. By means of two touches with the knuckles anywhere on the screen, we can make a complete capture and later, edit it with the Software options. We can also draw with the knuckle to take a screenshot with shape. For example, if we want to make a circular capture, we just draw a circle with the knuckle and then we can edit it or change its shape. We can also take a scrolling screenshot. That is, take a screenshot of a complete web page or a complete document. To do this, we draw an 'S' with our knuckles and move to where we want to cut the capture.
Finally, smart capture allows us to stop or resume a video with a firm press when we are viewing one.
To draw
Another option that we find within the gesture configuration is to draw. We can create letters with the knuckles to open different applications. For example, if we draw a letter 'M' on the screen, we can open the music app. In the event that we draw a letter 'C', we can open the camera app. These gestures can only be done when the screen is on. Finally, we must mention that we can choose any application that we have installed in the system and configure the gesture to our liking.
Split screen mode with a simple knuckle gesture
The last option that we find in the settings of the Honor and Huawei phones is the possibility of performing the split screen action. How? We will only have to create a horizontal line in the middle of the screen using our knuckles and the recent apps panel will open. In this way, we can select the application we want and the double screen will be created. We must emphasize that to use this option we will need to be inside an application. The app has to allow split screen.
