The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer Samsung that offers the possibility of connecting it to a TV. This option is very useful if we want to view the movies that we have stored on our mobile on a larger screen, in addition to that we can also play from the terminal by watching the content on the television. In both cases, the procedure to connect the mobile with the television is the same, and that is precisely what we explain in detail below.
Before starting the tutorial, let's take a look at the components that we need to successfully complete this task:
- Obviously, to begin with, we need to have a Samsung Galaxy S3 with a charged battery on hand
- we also need a TV with HDMI input (high definition input)
- an HDMI cable
- and an HDTV adapter (we can find it in specialized mobile phone stores)
Once we have these materials ready, we can start with the tutorial.
How to connect Samsung Galaxy S3 with TV
- First we must connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI input of our television. If we have several inputs, we can connect the cable to any of them.
- Next we must connect the other end of the HDMI cable with the corresponding hole of the HDTV adapter.
- Now we must connect the small cable of the HDTV adapter with the microUSB input of our Samsung Galaxy S3.
- Finally, we would need to turn on the television, select the HDMI video input (if we have several inputs we will have to try the HDMI 1 channel, then the HDMI 2 channel, and so on until we find the input that we have used to connect the phone).
In principle, we have everything ready to start viewing the content of our mobile on the TV. We do not need to make any configuration on the phone, since the moment we open an image or a video, it will automatically be played on the television. Even in the vast majority of cases we will be able to see the phone interface directly on the television, which will make it even more convenient for us to navigate through the menus in a clearer way.
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, this tutorial will be useful both to watch our favorite movies on the television and to play video games by operating the mobile screen for the controls and watching the game on the television. In the case of video games, the most common is that some resolution is lost since they are not prepared to be played on a larger screen.
It should also be noted that the adapter that we show in the second photograph that accompanies this article includes another output that is used to charge the mobile at the same time that we play the content on the television. These types of adapters are somewhat more expensive, but they can come in handy so we don't run out of battery while we enjoy our audiovisual content.
