Emails have been a true revolution in the world of communication. Until some time ago it was unthinkable to be able to maintain contact with a person from anywhere in the world through messages that are received instantly at their destination. But unfortunately, this enormous advantage can turn into anyone's worst nightmare.
Who hasn't had a cold sweat when sending an important email to the wrong person? And those incomplete emails that go straight to their recipient due to an accidental click? All these questions have a very simple solution in Gmail. In this tutorial we will show you how to cancel an email sent in Gmail from an Android mobile.
How to delete an email sent from Gmail
To cancel and delete an email before the recipient reads it, we must follow these steps:
- First we will enter our favorite Android browser. We can use any browser: from the one that is installed by default to Google Chrome, for example.
- Once inside the browser, we must activate the option to view the pages as if we were on a computer. To do this, we will open the browser options tab (generally we can do it by clicking on the mobile options button, that is, the button that appears on the opposite side of the "Go back"). In this tab we have to look for a box with the name of " Desktop View " or similar.
- With the computer view already activated we must write this URL in the browser: gmail.com.
- We access our Gmail account and wait for the inbox to load.
- Now we look for the gear icon that appears at the top right of the page. Click on this icon and open the " Settings " option.
- In the new page that will open we must look in the list of upper configuration options for the option " Labs ". Click on this option.
- Now we slide down the page until you find an option called " Undo Send ". At first we will have this option with the "Disable" box activated, so we simply have to click on the " Enable " box (it appears to the right of this option) and then slide the page down to save the changes by clicking on the corresponding button.
From now on we can cancel outgoing emails for a few seconds after sending. This option will only be available if we use the desktop version of Gmail, and to delete an outgoing email we will simply click on the " Undo " option that will appear next to the "Your message has been sent" message.
Remember that all these steps can also be performed from the computer, but since you do not always have access to a desktop computer, we have also preferred to explain how to perform this tutorial from your mobile.
