The American company Apple usually allows its users to establish a name for each of their devices. This name is configured when the terminal is turned on for the first time, and from that moment on it becomes the identification that is shown to us every time we connect the terminal to some other device. But at any time it may be the case that we have acquired a second-hand iPhone and want to change its name, or we may simply be interested in changing the name of our iPhone because we do not like the one we set in the additional settings.
In any case, changing the name of an iPhone is a very simple task that does not require us to restart the mobile or delete the data that we have stored inside. Here's how to change the name of an iPhone (and even an iPad or iPod) step by step in less than a minute.
How to change the name of an iPhone
- First we must access the Settings application of our iPhone.
- Once inside this application, the next thing to do is enter the " General " section, which appears accompanied by the icon of a small gear on a gray background.
- In this section we will see different options, but the one that interests us in this case is the one that appears under the name " Information ". Click on it and a new screen will open.
- On the next screen we will see different data related to our iPhone (stored files, applications, version, etc.), and one of these data should appear under the name " Name ". Click on this information and a new screen should open.
- Now, finally, we only have to enter the new name that we want to associate with the iPhone that we are using to carry out this procedure. To do this we must delete the current name associated with the terminal (by clicking on the " x " icon that appears to the right of the name), and then we must enter the new name that we want to configure for the mobile. After entering the new name, click on the " OK " button that appears in the lower right part of the virtual keyboard and we will have completely finished the procedure.
If we want to verify that the iPhone name change has been carried out correctly, we can try to connect the mobile to the computer. When connecting it to the computer we can access the main folder of the mobile, and if we have carried out all the previous steps correctly, this folder should appear identified under the new name that we have configured. Remember that the new name that we have configured will also appear in any connection with our terminal (see, for example, when connecting the iPhone to a device through Bluetooth), so it is advisable to establish a name that we are able to quickly associate with our mobile.
