If there is a sector that has benefited from what the coronavirus pandemic has bundled, it is, without a doubt, that of mobile application developers, especially those focused on remote communication. The tools that make video calls possible have proliferated like mushrooms in the autumn and, even others somewhat unrelated to the subject, such as Facebook, have developed their own massive meeting rooms. If we had to stay with one that has really taken a big hit, that would undoubtedly be zoom.
How to place a virtual background in Zoom from mobile
And one of the funniest and most attractive possibilities that Zoom gives us is to be able to put a virtual background in our dull and boring room and, thus, add a little fun to the meeting. We can do it, in addition to through the browser, from your iPhone. Unfortunately this option is not available on Android.
To be able to perform this simple maneuver, we only have to complete the following steps.
- You can only change the background if you are in a meeting, it does not matter if you have created it or have been invited, but you can only change it that way.
- Next, click on the three-point button in the upper right 'More'. And finally, we enter 'Virtual Fund'.
- On this screen we will have, predefined, three backgrounds that we can combine to taste. It is a jungle, with its green leaves, a hypnotic image of the vast universe and, finally, the iconic Golden Gate of San Francisco. We just have to press between the three to stay with the one that best hits us at that moment. The results can be a bit uneven, but to make the joke it is not bad at all.
- If none of these three funds convince us, we can always upload the one we have on our iPhone or iPad. To do this, we just have to click on the '+' icon that appears right next to the predefined funds. At that moment, the gallery of your iPhone or iPad will open, through which we can navigate to select the image that we like the most. We will do the same as with the predefined funds, we will click on 'Accept' and the background will be applied automatically, without us having to do anything else.
As you have seen, it is very easy to change the virtual background of Zoom on a mobile. Now, we hope that in a next update it will reach Android.
