LED technology has been in smartphones for a good number of years. Blackberry phones were the first to implement them, and today there are several brands that integrate them into their models, such as Samsung, Huawei, Honor or BQ. Unfortunately, in almost all of these manufacturers the option to change the color of the notification LED of their phones is not included by default. That is why we are forced to resort to third-party applications, and this time we bring you one of the most useful to change the LED of the mobile.
First of all, we must make sure that the LED light of the phone in question is polychromatic, that is, it can change color. The best way to check is to see if its color changes when we receive a notification. In the event that it is only displayed in white, it is most likely monochrome.
Change LED colors on Android without root
Customizing LED colors is not new to Android. Currently there are many applications that integrate this option as standard, such as WhatsApp or Telegram. However, a good number of applications have not yet implemented this feature in their options, so we are forced to resort to external tools.
In this case we will resort to the Light Manager application, which we can find for free in the Google Play Store through the following link. Once we have installed it, we will have to give it the notification permissions so that the application can read the incoming notifications. Now an interface similar to the one in the screenshots below should appear.
If we want to configure the color of the LED of a certain application, we will only have to select the colors in the corresponding applications that the application shows us in the Start and click on the Enable option. We can also add applications that are not on the mentioned Start screen in the last option of Add application.
Finally, and only in the event that we observe an anomalous operation, we must deactivate the Battery Saving options if we have them activated in Android. Likewise, it is recommended to delete the notification settings in the application in question that we have configured through Light Manager. Translated into Christian it means we will have to delete the LED notifications in WhatsApp, Twitter and the applications that have this option so that Light Manager can manage them without problems.
