Changing the PIN code is a process that until now was relatively easy to perform. Over time, the different mobile brands have decided to hide this option to avoid accidental changes: this is the case of Motorola Moto brand phones. Fortunately, changing the PIN on a Motorola is still feasible from the system's own options, and this time we will show you how to proceed step by step.
The steps we will see below are compatible with most Motorola. Motorola Moto G3, Moto G4, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Play, Motorola Moto E4, E5 and E6, Motorola One, One Action and One Vision and Motorola Moto Z2 and Z3.
This is how you can change the SIM PIN on a Motorola
Like any process related to phone security, to change the PIN code of the SIM card we will have to go to the Settings application, and more specifically to the Security and location section.
Next we will click on SIM card lock and select the SIM card whose PIN code we want to change. Since most Motorola mobiles have a tray for two SIMs, we will have to make sure that the card we want to configure corresponds to our choice.
Finally , we will click Change SIM card PIN and enter the current code to make way for the new code, which must contain at least four digits. If what we want is to remove the PIN from the home screen with nothing to start the system, we can deactivate the block SIM card box that will appear just above that option.
When we have finished configuring the card, we will restart the phone to verify that, indeed, the PIN has been changed correctly.
Alternative method to change PIN on Motorola
There is an alternative method to change the PIN code directly without going through the settings application, but through the phone dialer.
With the Phone application open, we will enter the following formula:
- ** 04 * current PIN code * new PIN code * new PIN code #
If, for example, our current PIN code is 1234 and the new one is 5678, the formula to enter would be the following:
- ** 04 * 1234 * 5678 * 5678 #
After making the change, the phone will notify us that the PIN code has been changed correctly. We can check this by restarting the phone and entering the new credential.
