If a few years ago changing the PIN code of the SIM card was as simple as accessing the settings and proceeding with the change, today manufacturers choose to hide this option to avoid accidental changes. This is the case of Samsung, who since the latest versions of One UI and Samsung Experience has decided to hide changing the SIM PIN code for Samsung Galaxy, whether it is from the A, M, J, Note or S range. This time we will show you how to change the PIN on a Samsung mobile in a simple way and without having to resort to third-party applications.
The steps that we will see below are compatible with all Samsung mobiles, including the Galaxy S6, S7, S8, S9 and S10, Galaxy J3, J5 and J7, Galaxy Note 8, Note 9 and Note 10, Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A20, A30, A40, A50, A60, A70 and A80 and Galaxy M10, M20, M30 and M40.
This is how you can change the SIM card PIN on a Samsung mobile
Regardless of the model, changing the PIN code on a Samsung mobile is a really simple process. The essential requirement to proceed, of course, is to have the current PIN code of the SIM card so that the system verifies that it is with the owner of the phone.
Starting from this point, the first step to change the code will be to access the Lock screen and security section within the Settings application that we can find in the application box. Then, we will slide the options down and select More security settings or Other security settings (the name may vary depending on the version of Android).
The next thing we will have to do is click on Confi. card lock SIM or Set up SIM card lock and finally Change SIM card PIN. The last step is based on entering the current code and entering a new PIN whose characters do not match the current PIN code.
Finally, we will save the stored PIN code and restart the phone to verify that the PIN change has been made correctly. If we access the Change SIM card PIN section again, we can deactivate the PIN request at startup by unchecking the Block SIM card option.
