Android 7.0 Nougat came loaded with news. Many related to productivity, such as multitasking. There are many hidden tricks in Android 7.0 Nougat onwards, some very interesting, that you may not have known about. Today we are going to show you a very simple one to apply, without the need to root your device, and without any application. It involves resizing the entire interface, including its icons, text, and other elements.
This option came by default in Android 7.0 Nougat. It is a very important feature, especially those with large devices, with very large elements. This option can be configured through the device settings. We have two options. The first and the simplest is by going to settings, screen and selecting the screen content size option. From one line we can increase or decrease the content of the screen. Going from the smallest, to the largest that it admits. Of course, this is the most recommended option if you are not a very advanced user. The option that we explain below may be simple, but if we increase or decrease the screen size too much, it will be difficult for us to return to the default configuration.
Modify DPI through development settings
To be able to modify the DPI (The size of the icons and other elements). We only need to have the development options activated. To do this, we go to settings, about the device and the Kernel version or build number. Afterwards, we press several times until we get a small notice saying; ”˜Development options” ™ are already activated. Once we skip this warning, we can go to the settings menu and enter the box that says ”˜Development options” ™
Smaller width
The development options of our device allow us to easily change the manual configuration of different parameters, we can change the animation, apply USB debugging, among others. Of course, one of these options is to change the Width of our icons. We have to go to the design section. Next we go to the last option that says ”˜Smallest width” ™ There we will get a number accompanied by the letters DPI.
It is important to memorize this number in case you want to revert to the default settings. Write it down on a separate piece of paper, in the notes app or take a screenshot to make sure of the number. Once memorized, we can change the width. To do this, we enter and modify the number. If you want the icons and interface to look smaller, increase the number. Be very careful not to go overboard. You see it changing little by little, because if you decrease the icons considerably, then it will be difficult for you to enter again. If you want the icons to look bigger, you just have to decrease the number, and take into account the same as when increasing them, always little by little.
Now you just have to leave it to your liking and enjoy the new size of the interface. Remember that you can put them back as they were, but you will have to save or memorize the default number. We must emphasize that, in previous versions, this option is not available, and you may have to resort to a third-party application or Root services to be able to apply it.
