How to add a gmail account in android

Android incorporates an option among its settings that allows adding a Gmail account to the device that is being used. This option is very useful not only to be notified of new emails in real time, but also to access different applications without having to manually enter Gmail data. For example, when using Google Play you need a Gmail account linked to the device both to download the applications and to be able to update them later.

Here is how to carry out all the configuration processes to add a Gmail account on Android. The tutorial is divided into three parts: add the Gmail account, configure the account and activate it in the Gmail application so that all incoming emails appear as notifications on the mobile.

Add a Gmail account on Android

To add a Gmail email account on an Android device, follow these steps:

1. First you have to open the Android Settings menu. To do this you have to go to the list of applications and select the gear icon with the title "Settings".
2. Once inside, you have to slide the screen to the option "Add account" located within the Accounts section.
3. Clicking on this option opens a new window in which you have to select the type of account you want to add to the terminal. In this case, what we are interested in is adding a Gmail account, so we will have to click on the " Google " option.

Set up Gmail account on Android

Once the three previous steps have been carried out, the next thing to do is configure the Gmail account that is going to be added to the terminal. To do this, follow these indications:

1. First you have to select the option " Use account " that appears in the first configuration window after following the tutorial attached above. If you want to add a Gmail account to your mobile that has not yet been created, you would have to select the option "Create account", but that is not what you are looking for in this tutorial.
2. In the next window you have to enter the Gmail account data (both the email and the password). Then you have to click on the arrow pointing to the right at the bottom of the screen. It is advisable to deactivate the box "Receive news and offers from Google Play " if you are not interested in news from the Google application store.
3. The following window will be active for a few seconds while the mobile connects to the network to verify the details of the account entered.
4. Now a message from Google Play will appear asking if you want to configure the credit card to make purchases in the application store. Since this step can be done later, it is recommended to click on "Not now".
5. The fifth step consists of activating and deactivating the boxes corresponding to the data that you want to synchronize with the Gmail account. For example, if you want to import the contacts from the email account to the mobile, you should leave the "Synchronize Contacts" box activated.
6. Finally, you have to click on the arrow pointing to the right at the bottom of the screen. If everything went well, you should now see the Android Settings screen again.

Once all the previous steps have been completed, now we can check our Gmail email from the mobile. To do this, follow these indications:

1. First you have to access the Gmail application on Android. This application is normally installed as standard on all terminals with this operating system. To access it you have to navigate to the list of applications and click on the icon that comes with the name " Gmail ".
2. By clicking on the upper left part of the application you can select the Gmail account you want to view. Likewise, from this menu we can also navigate between the different mail folders (Sent, Unwanted, etc.).
3. To activate and deactivate the pop-up notifications with the arrival of a new email, you have to open the Gmail settings menu by clicking on the menu button that the mobile phone generally incorporates at the bottom.
