Through a video posted on the Internet, the audience was shown how the first official Android 4.1 ROM worked on the current Samsung flagship: the Samsung Galaxy S3. Although at the moment the manufacturer has not released the update, thanks to specialized Internet portals, the update can now be downloaded and installed on the terminal. Here's how:
On August 29, Samsung will hold a very special presentation: show the press its new creation baptized under the name of Samsung Galaxy Note 2, a powerful hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet that will have a quad-core processor and a screen that will reach 5.5 inches diagonally.
However, it is also expected that the same day the update to Jelly Bean (aka Android 4.1) for their current first sword will be made official and on whose update they have been working over the last weeks. Other smartphones of the company are also in the spotlight and months later the relevant versions should arrive. One of them would be the Samsung Galaxy S2 that is expected for the months of September or October; another would be the original Samsung Galaxy Note which is still pending confirmation by the company.
But thanks to SamMobile , users can now download the leaked ROM and it can be seen in a video from the Internet. It should be remembered that although its appearance should be very close to what may be announced at the end of August, it is not a 100% stable version and that it could have some malfunctions. Therefore, if you want to install this filtered version, the user must do it under his responsibility and make sure to follow all the steps if he does not want to spoil the terminal.
Another aspect to take into account is that Samsung Kies will not be used for the update, although it must be installed on the computer so that it recognizes the smartphone once the Odin program is executed, with which the installation will be carried out. that we tell you in the following lines:
First of all, it is best to make a backup of all your data. In one of the steps, all the content of the terminal will be erased. Secondly, to carry out the process, XDA-Developers announces that it is necessary to have an official ROM installed in the terminal. Otherwise, a disaster could happen and render the Samsung Galaxy S3 totally useless.
Next, the user must download from this link the ROM filtered on the Internet with the number I9300XXDLG4. After downloading, the file is decompressed and will be in ZIP format. After this, the Odin program will run in version 1.85. And the Samsung Galaxy S3 will connect to the computer after booting in download mode or download mode in English. This process is carried out as follows: the Samsung smartphone is turned off, it is turned on again and when the screen showing the manufacturer's logo appears, press the power, home and volume down buttons simultaneously.
After connecting to the computer, Odin should recognize the computer and one of the ID: COM boxes should be displayed in green on the screen. After this, in the PDA section on the right of the menu, you must add the file with an md5 extension that will be in the folder where the downloaded ROM was unzipped. Of course, before starting the flashing, it is very important that the user must make sure that the "Re-Partion" box is not checked. After that, you just have to wait for the process to finish.
The next thing that the user will see is that the Samsung Galaxy S3 restarts, but from XDA-Developers they warn that there will be a bustle of resets and the terminal will not start at all. Therefore, the battery must be removed from the rear compartment and inserted back into its hole. After this, the mobile is restarted in Recovery mode, which is done in the following way: simultaneously press the power, home and volume up buttons. Once inside the menu, you must move up or down with the volume buttons until the option “ wipe / factory reset ". In this step, it is when the data stored on the smartphone will be lost and the user should have made a backup as indicated at the beginning.
After this step, the reboot option (or restart in English) is marked and it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S3 boots with the new ROM installed and shows all the new functions.
