The Nexus S update to Android 4.0 is now ready to install. However, the company itself has already commented that they give a period of one month for this new version to reach all terminals in the world. But if you are one of those who, as soon as you read the news, you are impatient to be able to try the new icons in the second generation of the official Mountain View mobile, it can be installed manually. Here's how.
The installation package is already available on the Internet and from the Android Central portal we have discovered how to install it. To begin, what is needed is to download the entire file with the necessary information. It is a compressed file that the user must rename with the following name: "update.zip". It can be downloaded from here.
When the file is downloaded to the computer, the Nexus S must be connected to a USB port and the entire file must be transferred to the internal memory of the terminal. But be careful, in no folder, but in the root and, above all, without decompressing; it must be put into memory as it is downloaded. After this step, the mobile must be turned off and turned on again, but not only with the power button but also by pressing the volume up button at the same time.
After this, the so-called Bootloader will start. This is nothing more than the loader of new ROMs with the entire full operating system. But yes, before carrying out this process -and in case it does not turn out completely well-, it is advisable to make a backup copy of all the information that the mobile phone stores inside. In the Android Market store there are different applications for it.
Once the terminal is restarted with this function, the client must navigate with the side volume keyboard to the option " recovery " and accept with the power button. After this step, a warning triangle should appear on the Nexus S screen. At that precise moment, you must press the volume up button and the power button at the same time. Another menu will reappear and the option “apply update from / sdcard” must be selected. Once inside the section, you will have to find the file that was copied at the beginning with the name “ update.zip ” and accept again with the power button.
After this, the advanced mobile will begin the Android 4.0 update. Although to be more specific still, the version that will be installed on the Nexus S is the new Android 4.0.3. After installation, you must choose the option " reboot the system now " and when the mobile is restarted, it will be possible to check how the new icons are executed on the terminal screen.
