The BQ firm has announced new devices among which are the BQ Aquaris V Plus. It is a model that offers a highly resistant screen thanks to the Dinorex glass. It is a system very similar to Corning's Gorilla Glass, so we will not have to worry about bumps or falls.

Another of its great claims is its 3,400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging system. The phone also comes with Android 7.1.1 and an eight-core processor with 3 or 4 GB of RAM. Like the BQ Aquaris V, the V Plus will be available from November from 250 euros (depending on version).

Dinorex Glass Screen

As we say, the BQ Aquaris V Plus has a screen protected by Dinorex glass, which in turn is 2.5D for the relief of the edges. Its size is 5.5 inches and offers a Full HD resolution, which gives it a density of 424 pixels per inch. At the design level, the Aquaris V Plus combines polycarbonate with aluminum. It is a fairly elegant mobile with a glossy finish. It is not too thick or heavy. Its exact measurements are 152.3 x 76.7 x 8.4 millimeters and its weight is 183 grams. If we turn it around, we see a fingerprint reader right in the middle and the signature logo presiding over the central part. The BQ Aquaris V Plus can be found in two colors: Gold with a black and white front with the front also dark.

Selfie camera with flash

Inside the BQ Aquaris V Plus there is room for an eight-core Snapdragon 435 processor running up to a speed of 1.4 GHz. An Adreno 505 GPU is in charge of the graphics, which is accompanied by 3 or 4 GB of RAM. We are talking, therefore, of a set with sufficient performance so that we can work with some of the most popular apps on Google Play. It will not be a problem to install, for example, WhatsApp, to handle Instagram or Facebook with ease. Nor play titles like Candy Crush Saga or Pokemon Go.

The storage capacity will be at the user's choice. You can choose between 32 or 64 GB of space. Any of them can be expanded through microSD type cards. With regard to the photographic section, the V Plus stands out above all for its secondary camera. It has a resolution of 8 megapixels with aperture f / 2.0, but it also has LED Flash. This is something quite interesting to take into account for lovers of selfies, especially those at night. And, we cannot deny that it is usually quite strange to still find mobiles with front cameras with Flash. For its part, the main camera is 12 megapixels with f / 2.0 aperture, LED flash, PDAF focus and the ability to record videos in Full HD at 30fps. We imagine that we will also have enough modes to beautify the captures, be it day or night.

Android 7

The BQ Aquaris V Plus is governed by Android 7.1.1 Nougat. This version has already been replaced by Android 8, but it is still present in a large number of medium and high-end phones. The system introduced a large number of prominent features at the time. One of the most important is the multi-window mode that allows you to use two applications at the same time from the same screen. Besides this, Android 7 also came with a smarter notification system. Doze, the battery saver feature, was also noticeably improved. To all this we must add a more fluid performance and an increasingly minimalist and user-friendly appearance. The fact of having Android 7 makes us think that it may be updated to Android 8 in the future.

On the rest of the characteristics we can highlight support for a double SIM. This means that the BQ Aquaris V Plus is capable of inserting two SIM cards. For example, one for work and one for personal use. In addition, it also has the NXP TFA9896 smart amplifier for better sound and a wide array of connectivity options. We can mention WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC or GPS. Another of its great advantages is found in the battery. The BQ Aquaris V Plus equips a 3,400 mAh capacity with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging system. Thanks to it, we can charge the device almost entirely in a very short time.

Price and availability

The BQ Aquaris V Plus will arrive from November in different configurations. The 32 GB and 3 GB RAM will be priced at 250 euros. The model with 64 GB and 4 GB RAM can be obtained for 280 euros. Without a doubt, these are figures that are not bad at all for the characteristics it has. As we have seen throughout the article, the device does not disappoint either at the design or hardware level. Likewise, it draws attention for features such as its screen with Dinorex Glass, rear camera with flash or fingerprint reader.
