She has been talked about ad nauseam and we have found photos of her even in the soup. The fact is that for just a day, Research In Motion (RIM) has confirmed the official technical characteristics of the new Blackberry Torch (formerly known as Blackberry 9800). The Canadian company, owner of the popular Blackberry terminals, has shown off its new offspring through the American operator AT&T, the same one that will be dedicated to marketing the phone. In fact, since yesterday, the new Blackberry Torch is already part of the operator's catalog for sale to its US customers.
The new Blackberry Torch is a terminal that stands out especially for incorporating a full and sliding QWERTY keyboard, something unprecedented in the terminals of the RIM firm. To this we would have to add a 3.2-inch touch screen and 480 x 360 pixels resolution that is complemented by an optical trackpad to navigate quickly through the different menu options. The phone also offers us the ability to connect to Wi-Fi networks and store files in 4 GB of internal memory, expandable up to 8 GB with microSD memory cards.
Inside we will find 512 MB of RAM and of course, the expected Blackberry 6.0 operating system. The camera incorporates a five megapixel sensor, useful for taking good snapshots from the mobile itself. At the moment, the AT&T team has not offered prices that can guide us when obtaining the terminal and associate it with certain rates. What the operator has done is to promote the qualities of the new Blackberry Torch and publicize the possibilities of this new touch terminal that does not stop incorporating the classic QWERTY keyboard.
RIM has not offered details about the future commercialization of the terminal in the European market. Those who want to buy it in the United States will have to wait a few days and subscribe to the newsletter to receive an alert as soon as the Blackberry Torch is ready for commercialization.
