Rumors are increasing about the possibility of Android 4.4 coming to the Samsung Galaxy S3
Rumors related to the arrival of the Android 4.4 KitKat update to the Samsung Galaxy S3 began to be seen at the beginning of this year 2014. The latest leaks in relation to this update suggest that finally there is the possibility that both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 end up receiving the update corresponding to Android 4.4 KitKat.
Recall that since the appearance of the first rumors, different news have been happening that seemed to have ended at the moment in which the South Korean manufacturer Samsung confirmed the list of terminals that would receive the most recent Android update. In this list, neither the Samsung Galaxy S3 nor the many other mobiles rumored to be updated to the latest version of the Android operating system appeared. Although it was an official confirmation, now some sources point out that the South Koreans could have decided to keep the list of other additional terminals upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat to -probably- wait for the update to be finished and ready to be published.
These same sources suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update between the months of April and May, and both the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 would receive the same update during a similar date. In this leak there is no data related to the update of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
Seeing these types of leaks, we can confirm that the South Korean company Samsung is dedicating the first months of this year to update its most popular smartphones to the latest version of the Android operating system. One of the last terminals to receive this update has been the Samsung Galaxy S4. This update has introduced new features such as a more modern interface and a much more fluid operating system, which corresponds to the same changes that are expected to come with the Samsung Galaxy S3 update.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S3 received its last operating system update at the end of 2013. This update brought with it the Android operating system in its version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and it was certainly a rather bumpy update as we have been able to verify through the different errors that have arisen in the terminals that were updated to this version.
Leaving rumors and leaks aside, the only thing we have one hundred percent confirmed right now is that the terminals that will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update this year are the following: Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, Samsung Galaxy Mega (5.8 and 6.3 inches), Samsung Galaxy Express, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (seven, eight and 10.1 inches).
