ASUS has entered the fight for the upper-middle range with the mobile presented today in Valencia. The ASUS ZenFone 6 is a terminal with a 6.4-inch screen, a Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of internal storage and a large 5,000 milliamp battery. All this with a glass design and a front without any notch. But then what have they done with the front camera? Well, the truth is that it does not have.
Rest assured, it's not that ASUS has gone crazy and deprived would-be buyers of taking selfies. The ASUS ZenFone 6 features a motorized dual camera that is capable of rotating 180 degrees. Thus, we can use the same camera as a front camera and as a rear camera. The terminal goes on sale today with a price starting at 560 euros, which is not bad for the hardware it includes. Want to get to know the new ASUS flagship a little better? Let's review its characteristics.

Flip Camera, the double camera that serves as both a front and rear camera
ASUS has wanted to solve in a single movement the inconveniences of the notch (notch)
on the screen and the low resolution front cameras. For this, the Flip Camera, a motorized dual camera module that contains a Sony IMX586 main sensor of 48 megapixels and aperture f / 1.79, has been removed from its sleeve; plus a 125-degree wide-angle sensor with 13 megapixel resolution.
This module is placed at the back, as if it were a normal dual camera. But when we want to use the front camera, it rotates 180 degrees to appear above the screen. In addition, ASUS has incorporated into the software the possibility to use it in any intermediate position. This will allow users to take photos from multiple positions without the need for strange poses.
For those who are concerned about the durability of this system, the manufacturer has commented that the Flip Camera module has been made of liquid metal. This is 20% lighter and four times stronger than stainless steel.
Furthermore, it is equipped with a G-sensor that detects acceleration speed. Its task is to hide the camera quickly if a fall of the mobile is detected.
A hardware designed to achieve great performance
But the ASUS ZenFone 6 offers much more than a curious photographic system. Inside we find a Snapdragon 855 processor, which is accompanied by up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage.
As for the screen, the mobile has a 6.4-inch IPS NanoEdge panel with a FHD + resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The technical set is completed by a 5,000 milliamp battery that, according to the manufacturer, offers two days of autonomy.
Price and availability
In short, ASUS has presented a terminal that seems to be able to compete in the upper mid-range without problems. It has a novel camera system, powerful hardware, a lot of battery and a beautiful design. We can't wait to give it a try to see how it performs in real life.
The ASUS ZenFone 6 is already on sale in the official ASUS online store, although only in its version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The price of this version is 560 euros. But in the coming weeks we will have two other versions of the terminal available. The cheapest will have 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, with a price of 500 euros. And the most powerful will have 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Its price will be 600 euros. All of them will be available in two colors: black and white with a blue gradient.
