Although we had already known about the new generation of Asus phones, we still had to witness the official presentation in Europe (and consequently, Spain). The Asus Zenfone 4, the Zenfone 4 selfie, selfie Zenfone Zenfone Pro and Max are now a reality and already have price and departure dates in our country. It is therefore a good time to review the characteristics of these four models and thus put them in perspective on the market.

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro
We come to the tandem Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro. They are two phones with some differences but a common element: the front camera has all the prominence in the hardware. We start with the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie: it has a 5.5-inch IPS screen and HD resolution. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 with 4GB of RAM, and the storage is 64GB.
The rear camera is 16 megapixels and can record in 4K, which is a very interesting point. However, as we already told you, the front camera is the star, thanks to a double camera with 20 and 5 megapixel lenses respectively. A luxury to give a new meaning to selfies. In addition, the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie has a 3,000 mAh battery, works with Android 7 and has Bluetooth 5, NFC and USB type-C connection.
Let's now look at the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie pro: it also has a 5.5-inch screen and HD resolution, but for this case, the panel technology is AMOLED, a quality upgrade. The rear camera is also 16 megapixels, as before, but the front one increases the capacity with two cameras of 24 and 5 megapixels, respectively.
It is not the only thing that changes in this Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro: the processor is a Snapdragon 625, more powerful, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 of ROM. The rest is equivalent, with a 3,000 mAh battery, Android 7 operating system and NFC connection.

Asus Zenfone 4 Max
Lastly, we are going to look at the Asus Zenfone 4 Max. It has been presented in two sizes, 5.2 and 5.5 inches, in both cases with HD resolution IPS panels. It is not the only difference between the two models: the 5.2-inch includes a Snapdragon 425 chip and the 5.5-inch, a Snapdragon 430. Both, yes, have 4 GB of RAM and a storage of 64 GB.
Another difference: the 5.2-inch model has a 4000 mAh battery, and the 5.5-inch one with a 5000 mAh, in both cases with fast charging. Still, the two models promise an approximate autonomy of 20 hours, the great strength of these Zenfone 4 Max.
In other features, the two models are the same, as in the case of the camera: a double rear 13 and 5 megapixel f / 2.0 aperture and a front 8 megapixel. Besides, the operating system is Android 7 Nougat and it has Bluetooth 4.2 and a micro USB 2.0 charging port.
Availability and prices
The great news of the last Asus event was in the departure dates and prices of the new terminals. We can finally know that the ZenFone 4 will be on sale from October 15, with a starting price of 500 euros. For their part, the Zenfone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro are both already available for prices of 300 and 400 euros, respectively.
The 5.2-inch Asus Zenfone 4 Max will be available from the end of October for a price of 200 euros. The 5.5-inch Zenfone 4 Max, meanwhile, can already be purchased for a price of 280 euros.
It is not very clear to us why the powerful Asus Zenfone 4 Pro has been left out of the list of phones with distribution in Europe, being the most range of the four. Even so, with these four models we have enough material for different levels of the range, as well as several price ranges. Which one do you like the most?
