The Asus ZenFone 2 is a new smartphone from the Taiwanese Asus that is presented as an upper-middle-range mobile ready to conquer users with a relatively affordable starting price: $ 200, which translated to the European market will probably mean a price close to 200 euros. The Asus ZenFone 2 is presented with a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution, a quad- core processor, 4 GigaBytes of RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop and a 13-megapixel main camera. Display and layout

The Asus ZenFone 2 is presented with a screen IPS of 5.5 inches to reach a resolution Full HD, that is, a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The pixel density that this display achieves is set at 403 ppi.

There are two cameras that the Asus ZenFone 2 has. The main camera also includes additional options through its app. Among these options we find the digital zoom, the digital image stabilization, the geo-tagging, the Panorama mode, the HDR mode, the face detection, the focus by touch and different scene modes.

The front camera of the Asus ZenFone 2 features a sensor to five megapixels and an aperture of type f / 2.0. This camera is capable of capturing a wide angle to ensure self-profile photos in which multiple people can appear with the help of the Selfie Panorama option (i.e. a panoramic selfie type photo).

ZenFone 2's native media player supports the following video and audio formats: AAC, eAAC +, MIDI, MP3, WMA, WAV, 3GPP, AVI, H.264, MP4, and WMV. Of course, according to the information being handled at the moment, the Asus ZenFone 2 does not incorporate FM Radio (which means that to listen to the radio on this mobile it is necessary to have an active Internet connection).

Power and memory

Performance is one of the aspects in which the Asus ZenFone 2 defends itself best. The processor inside this smartphone under its housing corresponds to an Intel Atom Z3580 of four cores (powered by 64 - bit) operating at a clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The capacity of the RAM depends on the version that we decide to purchase, as Asus will launch both a version with 2 GigaBytes of RAM and another version, much more powerful, with 4 GigaBytes of RAM; in both cases we are talking about a memory of type LPDDR3.

The internal storage space of the Asus ZenFone 2 also depends on the version that the user decides to purchase. The ZenFone 2 is available in a version with 16 gigabytes of internal memory, a version with 32 gigabytes of internal memory and a version with 64 gigabytes of internal memory. All these capacities can be expanded using a microSD card of up to 64 GigaBytes.

In addition, Asus also ensures that this smartphone includes a free 5 GigaBytes of cloud storage space in the Asus WebStorage service.

Operating system and applications

The Asus ZenFone 2 incorporates the Android operating system as standard in its latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop. What we have been able to know is that the ZenFone 2 has an ultra-fast charging technology that allows you to charge up to 60% of battery life in 39 minutes.

Price and availability

The Asus ZenFone 2 will hit stores in the coming months with a starting price of $ 200 (a figure that we intuit will translate to 200 euros in the European market). Of course, this price has a small print: the $ 200 will be applied to the starting price of the Asus ZenFone 2 with 2 GigaBytes of RAM and, probably, with 16 GigaBytes of internal storage; the rest of the versions will be priced higher, so the Asus ZenFone 2 with 4 GigaBytes of RAM and 64 GigaBytes of internal storage will be worth notably more than the most basic version.
