The Taiwanese company Asus is being one of the undisputed stars of the week. After updating its three phones from the ZenFone range (Asus ZenFone 4, Asus ZenFone 5 and Asus ZenFone 6) to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, this time it is a new leak that puts us on the track of a new smartphone from 5.5 inches. Apparently, Asus would be working at the moment on a new mobile that would be officially presented during CES 2015, a technological event that will take place in the United States at the beginning of next year 2015.
The information related to this leak is quite limited, and one of the few data that has been released in relation to this new Asus mobile resides on the screen. Everything indicates that it will be a phone that will integrate a 5.5-inch screen, as they have ventured to speculate from the US GSMArena website. In addition, assuming that we are talking about a high-end mobile -which is quite likely considering that its presentation is scheduled for one of the most important technological events of the year-, the resolution of this screen would have, at least, 1,280 x 720 pixels and screen pixel density greater than 250 ppi. Furthermore, the most identifying feature of the ZenFone range is its affordable starting price, so it is to be expected that this new smartphone will cost less than 300-400 euros.
If we take a look at the technical characteristics of the Asus ZenFone 6, the mid-to-high-end smartphone that Asus presented during the CES 2014 event that took place during the month of January of this year, we will see that we are facing a terminal that incorporates a screen IPS of six inches with a resolution established in 1280 x 720 pixels. Inside houses a processor Intel Atom Z2580 of dual core operating at a clock speed of 2GHz with a memory RAM available in two versions1 and 2 GigaBytes, respectively. The internal storage capacity is established at 8, 16 and 32 GigaBytes depending on the version we choose. The operating system that this mobile had installed at its launch was Android in its version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but with the new update that Asus has published, this phone has started to work under the version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
On the other hand, the most clueless owners of the Asus ZenFone 4, Asus ZenFone 5 and Asus ZenFone 6 who have not yet downloaded the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update should know that the file containing this version of the Android operating system is already there available on the net. All you have to do to download it is to go to the Asus support website (http://www.asus.com/es/support/) and select the help screen corresponding to the mobile you want to update. On this screen you can find all the necessary links to download the update.
