Archos has presented a new terminal that we can see at the MWC in Barcelona. The Archos 55 Graphite is an inexpensive terminal, but it incorporates a metal frame, a 5.5-inch screen and a double camera on the back. A terminal that does not lack detail and that will even arrive with Android 7.0. The Archos 55 Graphite will be available from June 2017, with a price that could be around 160 euros.
The Archos company is characterized by having low-cost terminals in its catalog, but with some characteristics inherited from the more expensive terminals. The new Archos 55 Graphite offers a metal frame that is 7.8 millimeters thick and a front with a contoured edge of 2.5D glass. Perhaps the company could have trimmed the top and bottom frames somewhat, as they are quite wide. More considering that the controls are on the screen.
In the back we find the fingerprint reader, located in the center, and the double camera, located in the upper area. The fingerprint reader allows you to unlock the terminal in just 0.3 seconds. We can also save up to five fingerprints.
Although at the design level it reminds us a lot of a certain device on the block, it is when looking inside when we are facing a terminal with a contained price. The Archos 55 Graphite offers a 5.5-inch screen with HD resolution. On the other hand, inside we find a Mediatek MT6737 processor with four cores running at 1.5 GHz. Accompanying this processor we have 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. We can expand this space with a microSD card of up to 128 GB.
As for the photographic section, the Archos 55 Graphite incorporates a double camera on its back. A system consisting of a 13-megapixel sensor with autofocus and LED flash plus a 2-megapixel sensor. With this dual camera system, the terminal is capable of providing an ultra-wide angle mode and achieving a bokeh effect. At the front we have a camera with a 5 megapixel sensor.
It is clear that we are facing a simple mobile, but enough for many users. Added to all of the above is a 3,000 milliamp battery that is charged via USB-C port, 4G connectivity and Android 7.0 as standard.
The Archos 55 Graphite will go on sale from June at a price that is still unknown, but will almost certainly be well below 200 euros.
