The French company Archos has presented this week the Archos 50 Diamond, a new smartphone that seeks to offer mid-range technical specifications at a relatively affordable price. The screen that incorporates this mobile has a size of five inches, and inside the case we find features such as, for example, an eight-core processor. The Archos 50 Diamond will be available in stores from next year 2015, and its starting price will be around 200 euros.
The Archos 50 Diamond is presented with a modern design in which the protagonist is still the plastic material. This is a relatively compact mobile, since their measurements are set forth in the 146 x 70.4 x 8 mm (and a weight of 146 grams). The screen has a size of five inches, is of type IPS and achieves a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The three buttons of the Android operating system ( Back , Home and Menu) are built into the bottom of the screen, which means that they are tactile buttons that do not take up useful space from the front panel.
In terms of performance, the Archos 50 Diamond is quite surprising with its processor: it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (with 64-bit technology) with eight cores that works at a clock speed divided into four Cortex-A53 cores working at 1.7 GHz and four other cores working at 1 GHz. The capacity of the RAM memory is 2 GigaBytes, while the internal storage space reaches 16 GigaBytes (expandable by means of a microSD memory card). The operating system installed as standard corresponds to Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
And let's not forget the camera. The Archos 50 Diamond has two chambers: the front sensor (ie, used for video calls and for photographs self-profile) is eight megapixels, while the main reaches sensor the 16MP (and is accompanied by an LED flash). The battery capacity of this smartphone is 2,700 mAh.
An interesting feature of the Archos 50 Diamond is that it is compatible with Cat 6 LTE technology, which allows download speeds of up to 300 Mbps through the data rate (using 4G LTE). In addition, it also incorporates a Dual-SIM slot that can be useful for those who need to always have two active telephone lines.
The Archos 50 Diamond will hit stores at the beginning of next year 2015 with a starting price of around 200 euros. We will have to wait until its launch to know the details regarding its availability, although in principle nothing contradicts the possibility that this mobile will also reach the Spanish market.
