The French company Archos has just announced its first two smartphones with ultra-fast 4G Internet connectivity. They are the Archos 45 Helium and the Archos 50 Helium, two new phones that will be officially presented at the CES 2014 technology event that will take place in Las Vegas between January 7 and 10. In the absence of the day of the official presentation of both mobiles, their main characteristics are already known, and as soon as they reach the stores they will be the two cheapest 4G smartphones on the market.
The first of these is the mobile Archos 45 Helium, a smartphone with a screen IPS of 4.5 inches with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It incorporates a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core achieves a clock speed of 1.4 GHz together with a memory RAM of 1 gigabyte. The internal storage has a capacity of 4 GigaBytes that can be expanded using an external microSD memory card.
The camera features a flash LED and is five megapixels. The standard operating system is Android in one of its latest versions, specifically Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The battery has a capacity of 1700 mAh. According to Archos, its terminal will be upgradeable in the not too distant future to the latest version of Android, Android 4.4.2 KitKat. To all these characteristics we must also add the main novelty of these terminals: the ultra-fast 4G Internet connectivity.
The price of the Archos 45 Helium will be about 225 euros.
The second smartphone is superior in specifications to the previous one. This is the Archos 50 Helium, which incorporates a screen IPS of five inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It incorporates the same processor as the first smartphone (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.4 GHz and 1 GigaByte of RAM memory), but its internal storage increases to 8 GigaBytes (and it is also expandable via microSD card).
The rear camera of this smartphone is eight megapixels, while the front camera has a sensor two megapixels. The operating system is also Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and in the future it could be updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The battery capacity is 2000 mAh. It also incorporates ultra-fast 4G internet connectivity.
The price of the Archos 50 Helium will be about 275 euros.
For now that is all the information that is known about these two mobiles. Archos will officially present both models throughout the CES 2014 event that we mentioned in the first paragraph. In this event, the launch date for the two mobiles and the markets that both smartphones will reach will be known. In principle, they should arrive in Spain almost safely, since one of the main markets for Archos is the European market. We will be attentive to the news that this company will announce during the celebration of the technology fair in Las Vegas.
