The French company Archos joins the advanced mobile market with the presentation of three terminals: Archos 35 Carbon, Archos 50 Platinum and Archos 53 Platinum. All of them will be based on Android and will hit stores at the end of next May. Their prices will start at 90 euros, in free format.
Currently, Archos had in its private portfolio different touch tablets based on Google icons, Android. However, it had not been decided, until now, to test within the smartphone sector. And it has, nothing more and nothing less than with three different models. The first of them, the Archos 35 Carbon, is the most affordable terminal in the range that will cost 90 euros, when it hits the market.
This smartphone offers a 3.5-inch diagonal screen with a maximum resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. As for its power, the Archos 35 Carbon incorporates a single-core processor with a working frequency of one GHz and a RAM of 512 MB. To this must be added an internal space of four GigaBytes and the possibility of using MicroSD memory cards of up to 32 GB.
It has two cameras, although none of them reaches the mega-pixel resolution; both will consist of VGA sensors "" it should be noted that the most basic model "". In turn, the version of the operating system that Archos has decided to implement in this model is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, two versions below the one that is currently being used. And, as an interesting note, the customer can use two phone numbers from this Archos 35 Carbon: it is a Dual SIM model.
Meanwhile, the two most powerful models, where the next two models are, Archos 50 Platinum and Archos 53 Platinum, have a five-inch and 5.3-inch screen, respectively. This will be the only difference that the customer can appreciate. The prices in free format will be 220 euros and 269 euros, depending on the size of the diagonal that the user wants to use.
Now, inside there will be a quad-core processor with a working frequency of 1.2 GHz and a RAM of one GB. In turn, the internal memory will remain at the four GigaBytes that the lower model of the new range also has. And, of course, MicroSD memory cards can be used.
As for the part of photos, both the Archos 50 Platinum and the Archos 53 Platinum have a sensor on the back "" the main camera "" with eight megapixels of resolution and accompanied by an integrated Flash. Meanwhile, in the front there is another web two megapixel camera to be able to use videoconferencing.
Another of the radical changes that the client will be able to observe is that another version of Android will be used in the two models. And it is that it is promoted to Jelly Bean with its Android version 4.1.2, which will give access to the Google application store and will have all the improvements that the Internet giant included with this version. Finally, it is also about Dual SIM models, with which the personal number and the work number can be carried in a single device.
