The American company Apple has publicly announced that certain iPhone chargers distributed between 2009 and 2012 include a small factory defect that could cause overheating problems during use. For this reason, the company has called for review all European 5 W adapters that include a small detail that we will explain below.
To know if we are affected by this problem we must look at the base of our charger. If the name " Model A1300 " appears on it, accompanied, a little below, by the abbreviation " CE " in a dark gray color, it means that we are the owners of a charger that must be replaced. These chargers were distributed with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and the first versions of the iPhone 4S. In contrast, chargers with the designation of " Model A1400 " are not affected by this problem and their owners can continue to use them normally.
Apple has encouraged owners of the defective charger to approach their nearest Apple Store (or any Apple Authorized Reseller) to request replacement with a new charger. Of course, users who decide to go with the charger should know that they have to take their iPhone with them so that those in charge of the store can take note of the mobile's serial number when changing the charger. Users who have purchased their iPhone under a contract with a telephone company can wait until June 18Since from that day on, large companies will also start activating campaigns to allow the replacement of defective chargers in their own establishments.
The replacement of the charger has no cost for the user, so that anyone who owns this faulty charger model can freely go to the nearest Apple store to receive technical assistance on all the steps they have to follow to perform replacement of the charger. Of course, it is important that we know that the failure only affects the adapter, so that we can continue to use the USB cable with complete normality without fear of any failure.
The problem with these defective chargers affects a total of 37 countries, among them is also Spain. Although this is not an overly worrisome failure, it is recommended that all iPhone owners take a look at their charger to make sure they are not affected by this problem. If we have doubts about whether our charger is affected by the problem of overheating, we simply have to go to an Apple store so that one of the dependents can solve our doubt.
