The end of this month of October sounds like the date indicated for the launch of a new generation of touch tablets from Apple. This is the iPad mini, a model that has been talked about for quite a few weeks. However, two models are currently sold: iPad 2 and the third generation, the new iPad. However, the second generation could disappear after the launch of the reduced version, according to an analyst.
The iPad 2 was launched in Spain, for example, throughout the month of March of last year 2,011; that is, it is not even two years old. But the possible launch of a computer with a smaller screen, would make Cupertino decide to stay with two very different sectors: a model for each size, according to an analyst from the company Evercore Partners .
In addition to predicting the elimination of the iPad 2 from the manufacturer's sales catalog, it also predicts high sales in the coming holidays: about 27 million iPads sold if the two models that will be visible are taken into account, with the mini version taking a share of seven million. What's more, the idea that the model disappears is more than logical. And you just have to look back and see what has happened in its entire product line after new launches.
It should be remembered that if the iPad 2 is out of the catalog "" as it happened with the original version released in 2010 "", it is very possible that in future updates this model will not be available to take the improvements. The original iPad, for example, was left out of the update of the long-awaited "" as controversial "" version iOS 6.
On October 23, Apple plans to present new equipment, among which the new iPad mini is expected. This team, if everything runs its course, would have a 7.85-inch diagonal screen, with a very thin aluminum body and that its design would remind, a little, of what can be seen in the new iPhone 5: metal back cover, slightly larger lower speakers and the new Lightning connector.
In addition, rumors pointed to a fairly affordable team that would be around 250 and 350 euros. Prices that would try to compete with current models on the market and where you would find rivals such as Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Kindle Fire or Google Nexus 7, all of them seven-inch models that are having a very good acceptance in the market.
At the moment it is not clear if Tim Cook and his team will have opted to introduce two versions of the equipment: one with WiFi connection and another that combines WiFi and 3G networks, as has happened in all the versions that have been sold so far. However, the German MobileGeeks page showed a snapshot of a store's inventory on the Web. In it it could be clearly read that, apparently, there will be models with WiFi and others with WiFi and 3G, in addition to having versions of 8, 16, 32 and 64 Gigabytes of internal memory. The best thing about filtration? Their prices were also shown and started from 250 euros to 650 euros, the latter being 64 GB of space and a combination of both connections without cables.
