- Google Camera APK for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9
- Gcam for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S
- Google Camera for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
We have already talked countless times about the Google camera app. In addition to bringing Google's algorithm to other Android phones, the resulting images have higher quality in qualitative terms if we compare them with those of the native camera. If we talk about Xiaomi, and more specifically about the Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro models, the improvement can be even more substantial, by having several different cameras and lenses. This time we have collected all versions of Google Camera to install the APK application through the aforementioned models of the Asian firm.
Google Camera APK for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9
The most basic model of the three is also the one with the least support from the community. The reason for this is that it has a Mediatek processor, so compatibility is somewhat limited. In fact, there is only one version of Google Camera for this specific model, which we can find at the following link:
After installing the application on the phone, we will have to apply the personalized configuration through the XML file that is attached to the download package. The process is as simple as opening the camera application and clicking on an empty part. The application will then allow us to select a configuration file through the phone's internal memory. Another option is based on creating a path in the internal memory ourselves with an advanced file explorer to apply the settings automatically.
The roadmap to follow is as follows:
- Create a folder in / Storage with the name of Gcam
- Create a folder in / Gcam with the name of Configs
- Move the XML file to / Configs
As for the functions of the application, the latest version has HDR + support and Night mode. It also allows us to take pictures in automatic mode, although video recording has some other problem.
Gcam for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S
If we talk about the Redmi Note 9S, things change completely if we talk about support from the developer community. The reason? It has a Qualcomm processor, which helps to make the camera drivers compatible with those of the phone. So much so that the terminal has several versions of the Google camera.
Of all these versions, the one that has worked the best for us is the one developed by OnFire, which is based on version 7.3.0 of GCam. We can download it through the following link:
Once we have downloaded it, the process to apply the custom configuration XML file through is practically identical to the one we have detailed previously. What's great about this version is that it supports all cameras on the phone, including cameras with wide-angle and macro lenses. It also supports video recording, Night mode, Panorama mode, Portrait mode and Astrophotography mode.
Google Camera for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
The support of the Redmi Note 9 Pro by the community is the same that we found for the Redmi Note 9S. And it is that both devices have the same processor, as well as the same technical characteristics. In other words, the GCam versions that we found for the Redmi Note 9S are compatible with the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
If we want to resort to an alternative version that allows us to take full advantage of the phone's 64 megapixels, we can use Ultracam, a modified version of Google Camera that takes full advantage of the 48 and 64 megapixel cameras.
