The constant trickle of rumors and leaks continues for what will be one of the flagship phones of next 2018. Samsung's new top of the range, the Samsung Galaxy s9 + could have 4GB of RAM, exactly like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S8 +. So, at least, reports the Phonearena page: the Samsung Galaxy S9 + would carry the latest processor of the house, Exynos 9810, but would maintain the same RAM memory as in its 2017 model.
The previous Samsung terminal has a second version of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, but only available in the Korean and Chinese markets. It is not known whether these two countries will also be able to enjoy an augmented version of the Samsung Galaxy S9 +. Thanks to a test in Geekbench we have known that, for now, and if no one claims otherwise, the user will have to 'settle' with the 4GB of RAM that we already see in many devices.
Phonearena itself does not provide any veracity about these Benchmark tests, so this information must be taken with great caution. It would not be the first time false performance tests have been sneaked in as they are very easy to fake. And, who knows, the Samsung Galaxy S9 + may have a greater amount of RAM.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 + rumors
These are some of the rumors with more consistency that we have been seeing in recent days.
- The new Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature a 5.77-inch screen. On the part of its older brother, we will see a 6.22-inch screen, the same size as its predecessor.
- It is quite likely that both teams already have the double sensor that carried, for the first time in Samsung's history, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Therefore, the design will change. Samsung is also working on a new technology that would represent a giant leap in the field of mobile cameras: a sensor capable of shooting up to 1,000 frames per second.
Other rumors about Samsung's new Galaxy range
- If we talk about the processor, as we have said before, we will have the new range of Exynos 9810, with 10 nanometer technology instead of 8, in the European model. A processor that will allow the user to connect to data networks with a download speed of 1.2GBps. In addition, it is a processor specially designed to perform at its best in the field of virtual reality. In the corresponding to the United States, Snapdragon is expected to debut its new machine, the Snapdragon 845.
- And in turns with the fingerprint sensor: it is unknown if, finally, they will be able to integrate it under the screen. If in the end it is not, they have two options: continue opting for the rear panel or place it on the front, adapting the infinite screen to the 'Island' format that we have on the iPhone X.
- Of course, both terminals will hit stores with the latest version of Android, the so-called Android 8 Oreo. A version that contains many new features, among which we have the Picture in Picture, the adaptive icons, a better management of notifications and substantial battery savings.
The launch of both terminals is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2018. Will we have them this year at MWC or will they, as in the case of their predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +, a separate keynote. As for the price, there has not been any rumor about it yet. If we take into account that the Samsung Galaxy S8 + went on sale with a price of 900 euros, we must assume that the new high-end may reach 1,000 euros.
