The South Korean company Samsung already seems to have the "photographic" variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 ready. It is the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom, a terminal that has starred in a new leak in which we have been able to appreciate the appearance of its imposing main camera. This camera, on which we have not yet known the number of megapixels that it could bring as standard, will incorporate a sensor with an optical magnification of 10 times.
Along with this leak, a rumor has also appeared that indicates the possibility that the South Koreans have decided to baptize this terminal as Samsung Galaxy K Zoom. Whatever name this device finally adopts, what we have clear is that we will be facing a new mobile terminal focused on photography that arises from a smartphone from the Galaxy range. The last terminal of this type has been the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, which incorporated a 16 megapixel camera as standard. Leaving aside the aspect of the camera, the rest of the specifications remain practically intact, since the idea of these terminals is to offer the user the possibility of carrying a mobile phone and a professional camera integrated in the same device.
The technical specifications of this device are, for now, a mystery. If we refer to the leaks and rumors, we see that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom could incorporate a screen of 4.8 inches with a resolution of 720 pixels. Inside we will probably find a quad- core processor running at a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, while the RAM memory will surely come with a capacity of 2 GigaBytes. The internal storage capacity will be around 16 GigaBytes, also including a slot for microSD memory cards.. The operating system installed as standard will be Android in its most recent version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat, so the terminal interface will be practically identical to the interface of this manufacturer's mobiles or tablets.
If we keep going back to rumors, we could say that the camera of this terminal will incorporate a sensor of 20 megapixels. This figure would be an increase of four megapixels versus 16 with camera featuring the Samsung Galaxy S5. How could it be otherwise, we will also have an LED flash that will help us improve the lighting in photographs taken in low light environments.
From here we have no choice but to wait patiently for the South Koreans to decide to leak some additional information about their new mobile-camera hybrid. Obviously we are not facing a terminal oriented towards all users, since only photography professionals will be able to get the true performance out of this device. Its price is still another mystery, although it will certainly not fall below 400 euros at its launch.
