Huawei usually releases two flagship phones a year. For this 2019 we have already met the first, the Huawei P30, announced just a few days ago in Paris. To this would be added the Huawei Mate 30, a terminal with extensive capabilities that would go hand in hand with a Pro version. This new model would already be in testing to be launched at the end of this year, possibly in the month of October.
At the moment there is very little data on the Mate 30. The latest leaks maintain that it could be powered by the new Kirin 985 processor. It is an evolution of the Kirin 980 included in the new P30 family, slightly more powerful and up to 10% more efficient than this. Furthermore, it would be the first to have a 7 nm EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography) manufacturing process. The production of this chip would be the responsibility of TSMC, in charge of manufacturing the A12 Bionic processor of the current Apple iPhone.
It should be noted that this chip would include a 5G modem as part of Huawei's strategy to fully immerse itself in the next generation of mobile phones compatible with this network. Manufacturing would begin during the third quarter of the year with the aim of being available by the time the next team is officially announced. If last year's strategy is repeated, the Huawei Mate 30 would debut in mid-October this year.
Not only changes to the processor are expected. It is possible that there are also novelties at the design level, photographic section or battery. The Huawei Mate 20 landed with a 6.53-inch panel with FHD + resolution (2244 x 1080) and a ratio of 18.7: 9. The terminal includes a notch in the shape of a drop of water and a triple rear camera of 12 +16 and 8 megapixels. The processor is a Kirin 980 along with 4 GB of RAM. It also offers a 4,000 mAh battery with super fast charging and wireless charging. We will be very aware of new information about the Mate 30, since we imagine a lot will appear over the next few months.
