The Taiwanese company Asus has starred in a new leak in which we have been able to know the preliminary appearance that its new hybrid between a mobile and a tablet will have: the Asus FonePad K012. It is a terminal that incorporates a seven-inch screen, and despite this size, the Asus FonePad K012 aims to become a device that serves both to make calls and to surf the Internet from a larger screen than usual.
While it is true that for the moment we have no official confirmation regarding the existence of this device, rumors indicate that the screen of seven inches of the Asus Fonepad K012 will have a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. If we refer to its interior, we will find an Intel Atom Z2560 model processor running at a clock speed of 1.6 GHz. The RAM memory will come with a capacity of 1 GigaByte, while the internal storage will offer a space of 8 GigaBytes (probably expandable via a microSD card).
The operating system installed as standard will be Android, although at the moment everything indicates that it will only come in its version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (perhaps Asus should consider the possibility of incorporating Android 4.4.2 KitKat). Taking into account that we will find connectivity such as GPS, we will be able to make the most of a large part of the applications that Google offers in this operating system (see Google Maps, for example).
If we take a look at the multimedia aspect of the Asus FonePad K012, we will see that the camera is not the strong point of this terminal. At the rear of this device we have a camera with a sensor two megapixels, while the front we find a camera that incorporates a sensor of 0.3 megapixels.
As you can see, this is a mid-range device that will try to fight against the rest of affordable mobiles and tablets from the big manufacturers. Regarding its price, it is said that the Asus FonePad K012 could have a starting price that will be around 100 euros. The departure date is a mystery, and the only thing that is known with total certainty is that the launch of this terminal will take place throughout this year.
In the event that Asus finally decides not to incorporate Android 4.4.2 KitKat into this device, we can rest assured that everything points to the fact that this manufacturer will launch a new batch of three tablet models accompanied by the version over the next few months. latest Android operating system. These are three tablets that have not yet been officially announced, although it has already been known that the size of their screens will be seven, eight and ten inches respectively. In principle, it will be devices with more complete specifications than those we have seen here.
