A new mid-range Samsung mobile has appeared on Geekbench. Apparently, the Korean manufacturer could be working on a new line of mobiles. Its name would be Galaxy M and it would come to complement its already extensive range of terminals. The first member of this new family seems to be the Samsung Galaxy M20, a mobile that will have the Exynos 7885 chipset. At least, that is deduced from the information that appeared on the Internet.
Generally, it is the test and certification pages that reveal the new terminals that will reach the market. Although it seemed that this year we could close it in terms of launch, maybe we are wrong. Today a Geekbench test has appeared on the net that reveals that Samsung is working on a new terminal. Thanks to this leak we have known some details of the hardware that this new mobile will include.
New processor and 3 GB of RAM
The list of features displayed by Geekbench reveals that the Samsung Galaxy M20 equates the Exynos 7885 processor. It is a chip manufactured in 14 nm and has eight cores. Samsung has already used it in other mid-range models, such as the Samsung Galaxy A8 2018 and the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018.
This time the Exynos 7885 SoC will be accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. That is, it will have 1 GB less than the models with the same processor of the Galaxy A series.
In terms of performance, the new Samsung Galaxy M20 scores 1,319 points for a single core and 4,074 points in the multi-core test. Both results are slightly below those achieved by the Samsung Galaxy A8 2018.
The last thing that is revealed in the tab that appeared in Geekbench is that the Samsung Galaxy M20 will arrive with Android 8.1.0. This makes us think that the new Samsung terminal will not take long to reach the market.
Other data and availability
Few more data we know of the supposed Samsung Galaxy M20. According to a previous leak, this new mobile will be available with 32 or 64 GB of storage. On the other hand, the family is expected to have another model called the Samsung Galaxy M30. This one would come with more storage, 64GB or 128GB.
According to rumors, the new Samsung Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 could go on sale later this year or early next.
