2019 will go down in the history of mobile telephony for having been the year in which the flexible device finally landed on the market. Specifically, from the hand of two brands. On the one hand, we have the Samsung Galaxy Fold by Samsung, a device that will arrive in our country at the beginning of May, with a Kevlar case and earbuds as a gift for a price of 2,000 euros; on the other, the Huawei Mate X, the new flexible of the Chinese brand that could even surpass the Korean in price, reaching 2,300 euros of sale price in Spain.
And who will arrive this year, too, to try to break prices in this sector, as has been customary for the brand? Indeed, Xiaomi wants to launch its own flexible terminal at the price in Europe of 1,000 euros. This means that, if the rumors are true, Xiaomi's new flexible would be costing half or less than its main rivals.
New video of Xiaomi flexible mobile
One of the main differences in terms of the design of the new Xiaomi Mi Fold or Mi Flex is that, unlike the other two that we already know, its two sides would fold towards the center, leaving it as the main screen when it was collected. That is to say, the mobile would have, on the sides, deployable 'wings' that include an additional screen. In this new video leaked by the YouTube account Xiaomiska we can see Xiaomi's flexible terminal in full operation.
This reduction in price is due to the fact that the Chinese brand will have in this flexible phone OLED screens manufactured by the company Visionox Technology. LG is the one in charge of manufacturing the OLED screens for Huawei terminals, while Samsung itself develops its own panels for its mobile terminals.
The new Xiaomi Mi Fold (or Mi Flex) will be a top of the range, carrying inside the Snapdragon 855 processor accompanied by 10 GB of RAM. In this other video from January we can see, again, Xiaomi's new flexible mobile in action.
This new terminal is expected to be announced by the Xiaomi brand in the second quarter of 2019, between the months of April and June. Will it exceed all the expectations that are placed on it?
