Android that will arrive earlier than expected and more mobile phones than android p
The first Android Q Developer Preview is about to see the light of day, and, according to Google itself, it will reach more devices than the previous version. The information has been taken from the Android Developers Backstage podcast, in an episode in which Iliyan Malchev, Google engineer and Project Treble architect, has participated. During the interview he expressed his excitement by confirming, without being able to give exact figures, that the number of mobiles that will enjoy the next big Android update will be higher than in Android Pie.
It should be remembered that the first Android 9 Developer Preview landed on March 7, 2018, surprising weeks later with the first beta, compatible with models from seven brands apart from Google Pixel: Nokia 7 Plus, OPPO R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Vivo X21UD, Vivo X21, OnePlus 6 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. Although we do know that there will be more, we do not know right now the exact number of terminals that could benefit from the next beta of Android Q. We imagine that we will leave doubts as soon as it is available.
Android Q will be the seventeenth major update to Google's mobile platform. Based on the data we have, the system will include new and better features, as well as a smarter, more functional and faster interface. One of the great novelties that is expected is a dark mode, which will change the backgrounds of some applications to black or gray, as appropriate. Also, native support is planned for Face ID-style facial recognition systems, or a Samsung DeX-style “desktop” mode.
Android Q will also allow screen recording without using third-party applications, and will include more privacy and security improvements. For example, calls can be blocked from private or unknown numbers, or from those that are not saved in the contact list. These features are confirmed, but there are still quite a few unknowns about the new version of Android. In addition to the mobiles that will join their ranks, we also do not know the exact name of the platform. Will it be Android 10 Quesadilla, Android 10 Quiche, Android 10 Quince Pie…? We hope to get out of doubt very soon.
