It seems that Motorola is throwing the house out the window when it comes to phone updates in recent weeks. Just yesterday, some users of the Moto G5 Plus received the Android Oreo update in its latest version with several of the improvements promised by the brand. Not a day of this has passed and a new wave of users are reporting that Android Oreo for the Motorola Moto G5 is coming through the beta program in Brazil.
The Android Oreo update for the Motorola Moto G5 will come soon to all mobiles
Much has been said about the Android 8 update for the Motorola G5. A few months ago, the Lenovo-owned brand announced the arrival of Android Oreo for some of its most popular models, such as the Motorola Moto G5 and the rest of the G-series mobiles. Several months later it was announced that the update would take more than as planned, and it seems that August will be the month in which we can update the Moto G5 to Oreo officially without having to resort to third-party ROMs.
As can be seen in the screenshots below, the Android Oreo 8.1 version for the Motorola Moto G5 is already beginning to reach users subscribed to the brand's beta program in Brazil, as is usual. Among the improvements introduced in this version, in addition to those announced a few months ago by Google in Android 8.1, include a new on and off menu, improved battery management, control of notifications individually and changes related to managing multitasking and wireless connections. The rest of the improvements are aimed at fixing bugs and improving stability and performance, in addition to the update of the security patch to July 1.
As for the arrival of the update to the rest of the smartphones in the world, Motorola has decided not to comment for the moment, however, taking into account the history of other models of the brand, it will surely end up arriving throughout the following weeks. If you are Motorola Moto G5 users and want to update as soon as possible, we recommend that you periodically check the Software Updates section of the Android Settings.
