Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, revealed in an interview in San Francisco that the next version of the Internet giant's icon system will be presented during the months of October or November, without giving a specific date. This version, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich, aims to unify the Gingerbread version that is used in advanced mobiles and Honeycomb, the version that is used in touch tablets.
In this way, users of Google's mobile platform would have it much easier to share applications between different mobile devices. Furthermore, the program developers themselves would not have to create different versions of a single application.
But Eric Schmidt's statements are no surprise. During the Google I / O conference, the company itself revealed that they were working on the next version of their operating system and that it would appear on the scene throughout this year 2011. Therefore, Schmidt has only confirmed what was already known.

What's more, taking into account the rumors surrounding Google's next mobile - Nexus Prime -, the new smartphone could also be presented throughout the month of October. And it is that Google - at least to date - has always presented its new versions of the mobile platform with the arrival of a new mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. In the latter case it was Android Honeycomb and the Motorola XOOM tablet.
However, and finally, the presentation of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or the new Nexus Prime -developed entirely by Samsung-, does not mean that October or November is the exact date of its launch on the consumer market. That is, it will take some time before you can see it in operation and on the market. Therefore, as very soon one could expect for the Christmas holidays.
