One of the points that generates the most controversy in the smartphone segment in general, and among Android terminals in particular, is the issue of system updates.
Very happy that we go to the store to get our favorite smart phone, thinking that it has the latest of the latest, and after six months we see that the latest version of the system begins to land on all the phones of our friends and family, except in the ours (as long as we don't carry a Google Nexus, of course).
Among Sony Ericsson there have been cases of this type, and perhaps with a view to distinguishing itself from the rest, the company under Japanese management has stated that all its terminals launched in 2011 (Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro, Sony Ericsson Xperia TXT Pro, Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, among others) will be compatible with Android 4.0 Ice Cream, and will be updated as soon as possible to that system version.
Of course, we will have to wait anyway. First of all, because the next big Android update won't arrive until late October or early November at the earliest.
By then, it should appear in the new Google Nexus, which as far as is known, runs again from the Korean Samsung account and will be called Nexus Prime, to move to Google's head phones (at least, the Nexus S, It remains to be seen if the Nexus One will support the hybrid system for smartphones and tablets).
In statements made in the SoMobile digital medium by Sony Ericsson officials, it was made clear that the present generation Xperia will be ready for Ice Cream Sandwich, although it was not detailed when the devices would begin to be updated, as well as which would be the first terminals to undertake the upgrade.
It also happens that none of the Sony Ericsson mobiles launched in 2011 is equipped with a dual-core processor, a point in the technical physiognomy that could come in handy for the correct and fluid operation of the Android that is to come.
In fact, there is already talk of a Sony Ericsson equipped with a dual-core, the Sony Ericsson Nozomi, but it seems that until the beginning of 2012 we will not be able to officially know its existence.
