It's a fact: Xiaomi phones don't get along with the Android Auto app. This is due, in large part, to MIUI, the Chinese firm's customization layer. Other phones of the brand with Android One, such as the Xiaomi Mi A1, A2 Lite, A2 or A3, have also had problems with the Google assistant to drive. To solve Android Auto problems with Xiaomi there is no single solution, but we are forced to resort to different methods to fix its operation if the application does not work. We have compiled some of these methods to solve the aforementioned application in Xiaomi.
An error has occurred in Android Auto: solution
A very common error has to do with the appearance of the message “An error has occurred. It seems that Google Play Services does not work at the moment ” when starting the application. The origin of the problem, as you may have imagined, is in Google Services.
The solution is as simple as going to the Applications section within Settings. Once inside, we will click on the three Options points and then on Show system applications or Show all applications.
Now we just have to go to the Google Play Services application. Within this we will click on Clear all data and Clear cache. Now everything should work properly.
Android Auto has encountered an error 16: solution
Another fairly common error, which is presented in a similar way to the previous one: "Communication error 16. There seems to be a problem." To solve this error we will have to get rid of the dual applications that we have created with the homonymous option in MIUI.
In Settings, we will go to Applications and then to Dual applications. Within this section we will have to disable all the applications that we have previously activated. Next we will click on the gear wheel located in the upper right corner and finally on Delete and restart.
Now yes, Android Auto should work properly.
Android Auto has encountered an error 8: solution
During the last weeks the communication error 8 has brought dozens of users in forums and social networks. This is a widespread application problem whose only solution is to update Google Services.
In this case we will have to resort to the following Google Play application to proceed with the update of Google Services. Once we have installed the application, it will be enough to start it and it will start looking for new updates. In case of detecting a package we will have to confirm the operation to proceed with its installation.
Android Auto not working on Xiaomi: solution
The latest updates to the application have completely eliminated the possibility of using the phone as a navigator in the car. Now we have to use the browser itself to use the platform inside a vehicle. So much so that Google has launched an application called Android Auto for phone screens that brings back Android Auto as we knew it. We can download it from this link.
Before proceeding with its installation, the ideal is to uninstall any version of Android Auto that is in the phone.
Android Auto won't connect: solution
If the application is causing connection problems with the car, it is very likely that we will have to clean all the data or use a more recent version.
The way to proceed in the first case is the same as we have explained previously: we will have to go to Settings / Applications / Android Auto to clear the data and the application cache. If the error persists, we will have to refer to APKMirror to download a more recent version, but not without first uninstalling the one that we have previously installed.
