Xiaomi is rolling out the Android 9 Pie update for the Pocophone F1. This means that if you are lucky enough to have the device in your possession, you will be able to download the new version of the platform via OTA, that is, without having to use any type of cable. The normal thing is that you receive a pop-up message advising you of its availability. You already know that in case the weeks go by and you haven't seen it, you can check yourself if Pie is available from the settings section, about the system, software updates.
The update, with build number PEJMIFI, is accompanied by MIUI 10.1.3.0, the latest version of the Chinese manufacturer's interface. The OTA packet is 1.7 GB in size, so make sure you are connected to a WiFi connection before downloading. If you don't want to wait to connect to get the update, just download and install the package manually. To do this you just have to go to this link and download the compressed ROM. It is a direct link that you can access directly from your mobile phone. The file has a size of 1.6 GB and is compressed in.ZIP.
Once downloaded, go to the settings section and select the system update tab. Then click on the context menu in the upper right (the icon with the three dots) and select the update package. Next , locate the path where the compressed ROM that you have downloaded is located and click on accept. When the process is finished, the terminal will restart automatically.
Android 9 brings some improvements to the Pocophone F1 in terms of performance and stability. In addition, it fixes some important bugs, such as the problem with the touch screen, the inability to watch Netflix content in HD, as well as synchronization errors with many cars in Android Auto. To all this we must add all the improvements in this new version. Among them we can highlight an adaptive battery system, easier navigation or redesigned and improved quick settings.
The Pocophone F1 can be purchased in Spain in two different configurations. The model with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage currently costs 330 euros. For its part, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of space it goes up to 400 euros.
