The Samsung Galaxy S3 is gearing up for a major revamp thanks to Android 4.2. There are no definitive dates for the update process to begin, but from SamMobile they already do a general review of the appearance of the second installment of Jelly Bean in the previous South Korean flagship, also showing the new functions and possibilities that the phone offers with this version of Google's operating system.
For starters, new animations are added on the lock screen. Whoever has or has had in their possession a Samsung Galaxy S3 has surely played with the aquatic effect that the screen produces in that blocking phase. Well, with Android 4.2 this resource is improved, gaining in realism. And in addition, it adds a new configuration, so that the virtual splash effect on the screen becomes a flash of light that moves along the length and width of the panel, dragged in contact with the finger.
One of the most interesting additions, and still dedicating ourselves to the lock screen, is the possibility of installing floating windows, or widgets , as we would usually do the desktop. Thanks to this, we would have direct accesses without having to unlock the terminal, showing useful information such as the multimedia player "" without the need for content running "", an access to Google Now, a view of Gmail updates, etc.. In this sense, we could also customize a welcome message that remains on the locked screen at all times.
Once we have the Samsung Galaxy S3 active, we will verify that the shortcuts to quick configuration functions grow in the notification bar, with which we could activate and deactivate connections and functions of the terminal without having to go through the settings menu. In any case, if we decide to go through this adjustment itinerary, we will notice another novelty: the main options are grouped in tabs, compared to the classic browser view that we know from Android. Thus, for example, we would have a section for connections, another for the main parameters of the terminal and another to configure the accounts associated with the Samsung Galaxy S3, as well as another generic tab for the rest of the options.
On the other hand, among the new functions that stand out in Android 4.2.2 for the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Driving Mode, which debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and which comes in all its splendor to the previous flagship, is particularly striking. This Driving Mode is mainly used so that we do not have to be distracted with the mobile while we are behind the wheel, so that the terminal not only activates the hands-free function that we traditionally know, but also reads the received messages and emails, as well as the alerts and calendar notes that jump as notifications.
Among the rest of the news we can point out a new floating window that is used to activate or deactivate exclusive Android functions in the Samsung Galaxy S, such as Direct Call, Smart Stay, Voice Control or S Beam. This widget is a very convenient direct access that we can place on one of the desktops on the main screen, and it will be of great help in order to keep these functions operational or turned off when we are most interested. It also significantly improves S Voice, the search and task assistant that was released on this same Samsung Galaxy S3, in addition to adding a new view in the multimedia gallery. New screen settings according to brightness and saturation are also introduced.
