The Taiwanese HTC continues with the deployment of system updates on its phones presented and launched during this 2012. Now it is the turn of the HTC One S, the terminal that was shown as a mid-range that took its head in technical and design aspects compared to the rest of its competitors and that saw the light during the past Mobile World Congress 2012. This team has already begun to receive Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the platform that precedes Android 4.2, an edition that is currently only available on Nexus family devices. With this new version of the Google platform the HTC One SYou get better in some ways, integrating new products from those of Mountain View "" like Google Now "" as well as some additions hand own HTC "" as functions you tuned in camera or new options in the Gallery.
The update, which in our country is already confirmed for free terminals, as well as for those that are anchored to the Vodafone firmware. To be able to get hold of it, we would only have to go to the system settings section and, in the last section ("About"), click on Software updates. Once there, we will see in the lower area a button, "Check now", which will invite us to track the update. If at that time the model of the HTC One S that we have in hand is ready to download and install Android version 4.1.1, the terminal will inform us of this and ask us for confirmation to continue with the process.
In total, the operation shouldn't take us more than five or seven minutes. The entire process can be carried out from the terminal itself using an OTA ( Over the Air ) system, although it is recommended that we do so once we are connected to a Wi-Fi point , in order not to drain our data quota. It is advisable to make a backup copy of the content of the phone, in order to avoid that, in the event that the operation is interrupted or develops with some type of error, all our data is kept safe.
With this, the HTC One S extends its validity, when we are at the doors of a new season of presentations and launches. The legacy that the Taiwanese firm will leave for the global market has been the HTC One X +, and in a few days the deployment of new equipment would begin with the inauguration of CES 2013, which will take place between January 8 and 11, and later during the Mobile World Congress 2013, which we will attend between February 25 and 28. By then, the star category is expected to follow the path opened by the Samsung Galaxy Note. And it is that it has already been raised that HTC will enter the segment of the so-calledtabletóphones or phablets , equipment that is part of what we have come to know as a smartphone, although with dimensions that bring it closer to a tablet. Sony or Huawei would also propose arguments in this regard during next 2013.
