- Two ways of interacting the screen with the apps
After several months of failures and uncertainties, finally, the folding phone of the Korean brand Samsung, the new Samsung Galaxy Fold, has an expected release date. On September 6, it was launched in South Korea and in our country it will do the same in the middle of next month. And, at the same time as this announcement, the applications have been put to work to adapt their interface to this new type of folding phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Fold. In this regard, the Korean company has stated that there are already "hundreds of applications" compatible with its new creature.
'Hundreds of apps' are already compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Fold
Among those 'hundreds of apps' that are already compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Fold are some of the most popular from Google's app store like Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Prime Video, and Spotify. Others that we can also name are iHeartRadio, Office, App In The Air and the VSCO photo editor.
Specifically, none of the developers of these applications has declared too much about what are the design innovations that would adapt to the new mobile. For example, Amazon or iHeartRadio have ensured that their applications will be compatible with the multi-window, that is, to be able to use two applications on the same device at the same time, something essential in a device that is said to be foldable. If we take this as a design reference, we could venture to say that the rest of the applications will go in this direction.
It is evident that, although Samsung has not moved a tab in this regard, applications as downloaded and popular as WhatsApp or those that belong to the Google universe (such as YouTube) are also updated to adapt their design to the new Samsung Galaxy Fold. A terminal that, after going through a period of crisis (remember that the terminal was sent to the press and youtubers to later verify that it was not yet 'finished' and had serious real problems of use) returns to the fold with the errors corrected.
Two ways of interacting the screen with the apps
Samsung has finally declared that its new folding mobile is ready to be enjoyed. In these same statements, the Korean brand emphasized the folding design of the terminal, with two screen options in the same device. When we have the mobile in the closed position, it acts like a normal mobile. But when we open it we have a 7.3-inch tablet.
To switch from one mode to another, Samsung has created two different functions. The first, called ' Continuity of the application ', refers to the fact that when we use an application and open the screen, it adapts to the big screen and we can continue using it. Samsung's native apps are already fully optimized. Of course, the Samsung keyboard is optimized to be used with the mobile unfolded. The second mode is called 'Multi-active window': with this mode you can take advantage of the entire screen space by opening different applications at the same time, up to even three in the same space and time.
Those of you who are interested will have to wait until the middle of next October to be able to have it in your hands for a price of 2,000 euros for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
