Always On Display, the feature that allows us to see notifications and the clock on the mobile if you need to press any button , will soon reach all Xiaomi phones. Until now, the only terminal of the company with this mode was the Xiaomi Mi 9, the last high-end presented by Xiaomi. The company itself has confirmed through a publication on the Weibo social network that this feature will reach all Xiaomi phones that meet a single condition.
Always On Display for all Xiaomi… with OLED screen
This was confirmed by Xiaomi this morning through a post on Weibo. Apparently, the company will introduce in future versions of MIUI the aforementioned feature that shows the clock and notifications without user intervention, only through the receipt of a notification or through the movement of the terminal.
As explained by the company in the original publication, Always On Display will only be available on all those Xiaomi phones that have an OLED screen. Remember that the aforementioned function bases its operation on a black background to reduce battery consumption.
Precisely one of the advantages of this type of panel resides in the turning off of the screen's LEDs in black colors, in such a way that energy consumption is practically zero when it is turned on.
As for the list of AoD compatible phones, Xiaomi has not provided details about the launch of the new update. Taking into account that Xiaomi mobiles with OLED screens that are currently compatible with MIUI 10, it is most likely that we can find the new feature in the following models:
- Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
- Xiaomi Mi 8
- Xiaomi MI MIX 3
- Xiaomi MI MIX 2S
- Xiaomi MI MIX 2
- Xiaomi MI Note 3
- Xiaomi MI Note 2
It could arrive with MIUI 11
MIUI 11 is just around the corner. This is confirmed by the different leaks on the new version of Xiaomi's customization layer. It is expected, therefore, that the new feature will arrive as a main novelty to all mobile phones compatible with MIUI 11.
It is also not ruled out that mobiles with LCS IPS screens receive this new feature, although without the advantages of OLED screens.
