The Taiwanese company ASUS is also going to join the list of mobile phone manufacturers that plan to update their devices this year to the latest version of Android, Android 4.4 KitKat. Although for now the exact date on which this update will reach ASUS terminals has not been known, we already know that the ones chosen to be updated to the latest version of Android are the following: ASUS PadFone 2 (in all its variants), ASUS PadFone Infinity and the new ASUS PadFone Infinity 2.
The first of these terminals, the ASUS PadFone 2, should receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update during the last days of the second quarter of this year. That is, it is most likely that the owners of this device can begin to install the update during the first months of summer. Recall that the ASUS PadFone 2 is a set consisting of a smartphone that incorporates a 4.7-inch screen and a tablet that has a 10.1-inch screen. Inside the phone we find a quad- core processor, 2 GigaBytes of RAMand a 5,000 milliamp battery.
The second ASUS terminal that will be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat is the ASUS PadFone Infinity, which will also receive this update in the last days of the second quarter of the year. Let's remember that we are talking about the whole that it has a smartphone that incorporates a five-inch screen and a tablet that incorporates a 10.1-inch screen. Inside smartphone have a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 of four cores operating at a clock speed of 1.7 GHz with a memory RAM of 2 gigabytes. The internal storage capacity is 32 or 64 GigaBytes depending on the version. The battery incorporates a capacity of 2,400 milliamps.
The third and last ASUS terminal that -for now- will receive Android 4.4 KitKat is the new ASUS PadFone Infinity 2. Its corresponding update should be seen throughout the third quarter of the year. It is a terminal that does not present great differences with respect to the ASUS PadFone Infinity beyond that it incorporates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and comes standard with the Android operating system in its version Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. For the rest, it is still a set of a smartphone and a tablet that are integrated with each other.
At the moment all the specific novelties that this update will bring are unknown, although ASUS has announced that the update will also incorporate a new version of its ZenUI interface. Remember that the concept of interface refers to a kind of customization layer that all manufacturers install on their mobile devices when incorporating Android into them. In this way, each company offers a different appearance in the menus and icons of its terminals.
