Alcatel 3l, cheap mobile with a 5.9-inch widescreen

One more year Alcatel renews its range of terminals and presents its new models at the MWC. The company maintains its policy of offering the most sought-after technical characteristics in terminals with a very low price. For this Alcatel has presented three new mobiles, the Alcatel 3, the Alcatel 3L and the Alcatel 1S. The new Alcatel 3L offers an immersive 5.9-inch screen with a drop-shaped notch. Inside we have a Snapdragon processor and a 3,500 milliamp battery. It also offers a dual rear camera and Android 8.1 Oreo. All this with a price that does not reach 150 euros. Screen with teardrop notch

One of the great novelties at the design level of the Alcatel 3L is found on the front. It includes a 5.94-inch screen with HD + resolution of 720 x 1,560 pixels. It is protected with 2.5D Dragontrail glass and has a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. In addition, the front camera is placed in a teardrop-shaped notch that takes up very little of the front. Of course, in the lower area we have a black frame that facilitates the grip of the terminal. This translates into a body-to-screen ratio of 88%.

For the rest, in the back we have a housing that seems to be made of plastic. This sports a textured finish, something similar to what we saw on the Alcatel 3x last year. The double rear camera is placed in the central area and in a vertical position. Under it is the flash and at the end of the whole logo of the brand. We don't have a fingerprint reader.

The full dimensions of the Alcatel 3L are 151.1 x 69.7 x 7.99 millimeters, with a weight of 145 grams. It will be available in two colors: Anthracite black (black) and Metallic blue (blue).

Double camera and a lot of battery

Inside the Alcatel 3L we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor. This is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. A capacity that we can expand with a Micro SD card of up to 128 GB.

The set is completed by a 3,500 milliamp battery which, taking into account the rest of the technical equipment, should give us considerable autonomy. And in terms of connectivity, the Alcatel 3L has 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and FM radio.

Relax, we have not forgotten the photographic section. We have a dual camera system at the rear. On the one hand, a 13-megapixel Samsung 3L6 main sensor with 1.12 μm pixels and f / 2.0 aperture. On the other hand, a 5 megapixel sensor with f / 2.4 aperture and 1.12 μm pixels.

The photographic set is completed by a front camera with an 8 megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 aperture. The rear camera is capable of recording video with 1080p resolution at 30fps and has an AI system for scene recognition.

Price and availability

The Alcatel 3L comes with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed, but the company has promised that it will be updated to Android 9.0 Pie in Q2 2109. The camera software includes Google Lens and also comes with the Google Assistant built in.

Available in the second quarter of 2019, the Alcatel 3L will start at € 140.
